We recommend that you regularly check inner of the ear and if necessary clean with a soft cloth or cotton sticks (as an infant). Remove the fat from the ear carefully, making sure not to suppress deep inside! It is good if you pre-vet can show you how it works. You can use a neutral ear drops that can be found in specialty pet stores. Fat from the ear is a natural substance that is used to clean the ear canal, but if there is too much you must visit a vet who will prescribe the appropriate cap. If you notice that the dog went swimming and the water went deeper into the ear (dog often shakes his head), it must be carefully removed with cotton wool or cotton swab. If your dog has no cropped ears, especially note that the water would not be retained in the ear canal and causing inflammation.
